Canon's volumetric video technology was used in live broadcast of the KEIRIN Grand Prix series held at Hiratsuka Velodrome from December 28, 2022 to December 30. This is the world's first attempt to broadcast a live race.
More than 100 cameras were installed at Hiratsuka Velodrome for the shooting. Taking advantage of the ability to generate volumetric video in real time, we provide replay and highlight footage after the race.
We provided images that can not be seen from a normal camera angle, such as player's point of view or images as if you are actually at a bank during a race.
More CADENCE, which publishes bicycle racing news, has also featured this shooting.
