Equipped with CMOS sensors with pixels capable of both phase detection AF and image capture, the EOS Kiss X9i is the first entry-class models to feature Dual Pixel CMOS AF and achieve the world’s fastest*1 high-speed AF when shooting in live view. Additionally, when shooting with the viewfinder, these cameras offer the same 45-point all cross-type AF*2 as the high-end model EOS 80D, making possible expansive, highly accurate focusing.

Equipped with the newest DIGIC 7 image processor and an approximately 24.2 million effective pixel*3 APS-C size CMOS sensor, these cameras achieve a normal high sensitivity of ISO25600 when shooting still images and a sensitivity of ISO12800 when shooting video. Additionally, these cameras realize up to approximately 6 frames per second (fps) continuous shooting.

By directly connecting to such devices as printers, computers and smartphones using Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth® low energy technology*4, these cameras make possible remote shooting and easy wireless transfer of stills and videos to these devices to save or share on social media.

*1 0.03 seconds. Among interchangeable lens digital cameras that incorporate APS-C size image sensors with phase-difference detection AF on the image plane. As of February 14th, 2017 (based on a Canon survey). Calculated based on the resulting AF speed measured according to the CIPA guidelines. (Varies depending on the shooting conditions and the lenses used.) Internal measurement method. Measurement conditions: focusing brightness: EV 12 (room temperature, ISO 100), shooting mode: M, lens used: EF-S18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM (at focal length of 55mm), Live View AF shooting using the shutter button, AF method: Live 1-point AF (with Center AF point), AF operation: One-Shot AF
*2 Depending on the attached lens and aspect ratio setting, the numbers of AF points, cross-type AF points and Dual cross-type AF points will change, with a maximum of 45 available cross-type AF points. When the EF-S18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM is attached, 15 cross-type AF points are available.
*3 Actual pixel count: approximately 25.8 million pixels
*4 The following systems requirements must be met for Bluetooth connectivity: for Android, Android 5.0 or later and Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth low energy technology compatible) or later are required. For iOS, Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth low energy technology compatible) or later is required (iPhone 4s or later, iPad 3rd generation or later, iPod touch 5th generation or later). Some devices that fulfill the above requirements may not be able to connect via Bluetooth. Without Bluetooth connectivity one remote control function will not be available, however image transfer and other remote operations will still be possible through Wi-Fi connectivity.
