The Sustainability Advantage program is assisting organization across NSW to achieve increased competitiveness and improved bottom lines through better environmental practices. Its aim is to encourage and recognize best practice in sustainability. The Sustainability Advantage Scheme acknowledges Bronze, Silver, Gold and, recently, Platinum partners. It recognizes continuous improvement measured against an organization’s own achievements in the program. Canon Australia has been a member of the Sustainability Advantage Program since 2009 and has a long history of reducing environmental impacts year on year. The company has been awarded the Gold Partner Award, for continually reducing its carbon emissions and for its long standing support of national, industry based product stewardship programs (Recycling programs for e-waste). Currently there are 11 Gold Partners including Canon Australia and one platinum partner.

Not resting on its laurels, Canon Australia has started work on a Platinum Project through Sustainability Advantage. The project will encourage collaboration between Product Stewardship programs to accelerate the circular economy in Australia.
