Canon supports relief efforts following flooding across Southeast Asia

TOKYO, November 1, 2013—Flooding in Thailand, Vietnam and elsewhere in Southeast Asia, triggered by heavy rain that began in mid September this year, has caused extensive damage and loss of life across the region.

We at Canon extend our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this catastrophe and our thoughts go out to the victims and their families. Although the road to recovery will be challenging and take time, we hope that the region will soon be able to begin the rebuilding and healing process.

Canon is aiding in the relief efforts for victims of the floods with the following donations by Canon Group companies in Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore to local Red Cross and other humanitarian aid organizations.

  • Combined cash donations: approximately 1.93 million yen (approximately US$19,700)
  • Relief supplies (food, clothing, etc.): approximate value of 440,000 yen (approximately US$4,500)
