TOKYO, Japan, September 19, 2013—Canon Inc. announced today that six of its imageRUNNER ADVANCE-series multifunction office systems were recognized with product awards from Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI), the world's leading independent evaluator of document imaging products and solutions. BLI's Summer 2013 "Pick" awards give special recognition to the hardware and software products that provided the best performance in the independent testing firm's rigorous evaluations during the first half of 2013. Hardware products undergo a reliability test as well as a battery of tests to assess image quality, productivity, scanning capability and ease of use, among others.

Canon's five imageRUNNER ADVANCE-series Summer 2013 "Pick" winners in the A3 category featured devices with multiple speed bands in both the color and monochrome segments: the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5235 A3 color MFP, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5240 A3 color MFP, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5250 A3 color MFP, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6265 A3 monochrome MFP and imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6275 A3 monochrome MFP. Based on BLI's rigorous testing, the five devices were praised for their "superior reliability" in high-volume printing.

Within the Energy Efficiency category, BLI awarded the "Outstanding Achievement" accolade to the most energy-efficient models tested during the first half of 2013. Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5255 A3-model color MFP was awarded for its substantially lower than average energy consumption during BLI's environmental testing. Additionally, the model achieved faster than average recovery times from sleep mode and offers a high-speed wake-up mode that lets users perform such tasks as faxing and scanning without having to wait for the machine to warm up. Additionally, job review and proof modes help to reduce paper and consumables waste, which contributed to the model's five-star overall rating.

Encouraged by the recognition of the advanced capabilities of its imageRUNNER ADVANCE series, Canon will continue striving to offer products that deliver even higher levels of performance.
