Canon announces toner cartridge-related patent infringement lawsuits in U.S.

TOKYO, February 6, 2014—Canon today announced the filing of 11 patent infringement suits in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against 18 manufacturers, distributors and sellers of toner cartridges that infringe Canon's U.S. Patent Nos. 8,135,304; 8,280,278; 8,369,744; 8,433,219; 8,437,669; 8,494,411; 8,532,533; 8,565,640; and 8,630,564. The named defendants are:

Ink Technologies Printer Supplies, LLC
Innotex Precision Ltd.
International Laser Group, Inc.

OnlineTechStores.com, Inc.
Print-Rite Holdings Ltd.
Print-Rite N.A., Inc.
Print-Rite Unicorn Image Products Co. Ltd.

The infringing cartridges are sold for use in more than 50 models of Canon and Hewlett-Packard laser beam printers. Canon is seeking damages and injunctive relief.
