Canon (China) Co., Ltd. issues the CSR Report 2016-2017 and receives a perfect five-star rating for two years in a row

On August 2017, Canon (China) Co., Ltd. issued the CSR Report 2016-2017 and posted it on their website. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the leading and most comprehensive think-tank affiliated with the People’s Republic of China, researches CSR reports in China, and awarded the CSR report of Canon (China) a perfect five-star rating for the second year in a row.

The CSR report of Canon (China) Co., Ltd. has been issued annually since 2010, and this year’s edition is the eighth. The report features the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were adopted by the United Nations in 2015. The report describes various activities of Canon (China), including compliance, product liability, responsibilities of business partners, labor and human rights, responsibility for the environment, and social-contribution.

The criteria for reports include the presentation method, content, historical comparisons, readability and creativity, and reports are rated on a five-star scale. The responsibility for the environment section highlights the environmental measures taken by Canon (China) and production sites in China, including the green office of Canon Suzhou, improvement of compressors by Canon Business Machine Dalian, the green supply chain management of Canon (China), and the logistics process improvement of Canon (China).
