Canon declared a five-star green supply chain company in China for the second straight year

Canon has been recognized as a five-star company in the green supply chain rating certification scheme employed by the China Environmental United Certification Center1 (CEC) for a second straight year. No other firm has been awarded a five-star rating in the electrical and electronics industry.

The scheme was launched to promote green production activities, green procurement and environmental management of supply chains by the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection and its certification operations are conducted by CEC under the Ministry. In the certification, a company’s supply chain management and other environment promotion systems are evaluated comprehensively.

This year, the following points were highly rated and led to the certification:

  • In its supply chain management, the company performs green procurement and communicates actively with suppliers to build trust.
  • The suppliers satisfy many indexes for technological norms in the green supply chain rating2.
  • 1.The China Environmental United Certification Center, authorized by the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection, is the only certification body that can certify products with the nationally recognized China Environmental Label.
