On June 2018, the Canon Group was awarded a “GOLD” rating from EcoVadis (France), for a fourth consecutive year, for sustainability; with outstanding performance scores being achieved in the areas of “Environment” and “Sustainable procurement.”
The EcoVadis CSR analysis system assesses 21 criteria across four themes of Environment, Labor practices and human rights, Fair business practices, and Sustainable procurement. A “GOLD” rating is awarded to companies who score in the top 5% for sustainability performance. The EcoVadis CSR assessment covers 45,000 suppliers, 190 sectors and 150 countries. The methodology is built on international CSR standards including the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000.
Sustainability rating such as EcoVadis are frequently used by companies across the European region to demonstrate their commitment to the sustainability agenda; and are regularly referenced during business negotiations with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
