Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand) (CHT) received an Excellent Level for winning in the 2019 Green Star Awards sponsored by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT). This was the company’s third straight the Green Star Awards, following awards in 2017 and 2018.

The Green Star Awards program was organized in 2011 by the IEAT with the backing of Thailand’s Ministry of Industry. The awards criteria covers many areas, such as proper operation of environmental management and health and safety management systems, labor management, environmental conservation programs and their transparency, social responsibility and accountability (management of physical, economic, environmental, and social facets), and environmental and safety compliance.
CHT was recognized for its track record in reducing consumption/emissions of energy, water resources, waste materials, and chemical substances as well as for its provision of safe and secure plants and work environments. The company was also recognized for its many environmental and social activities conducted not as an individual company but in partnership with the local community: for example, environmental awareness and educational programs for children.
In Thailand, there are approximately 60 industrial estates and around 5,000 companies. CHT was the only company that receive a perfect score, an Excellent Level award from the Ban Wa industrial estate where CHT is located.
