I arbitrarily picked out events in photos I’d taken and ran them over and over in my mind to get closer to the “that” that had existed previously at the event. As I did this, fuzzy things took on a tinge of truth (at least in my mind) as common rules formed. At the same time, what I had believed to be certain grew indistinct. I am not looking to draw out definitive answers, but my single-mindedly tracing of parallel lines may bring about some meaning.
Entries form: Various sizes of installations consisting of wood, stone-powdered clay, photographs, and text. Video (12:41)
I was taken by this work’s contrasting severity and playfulness. The inclusion of absurdity was a nice touch. The work also contemplates the potential of photography in the art world and extends photography into the realm of video.
