Addressing the Responsible Minerals Sourcing (Conflict Minerals Issue)

Canon has been addressing conflict minerals issues since 2010. Canon confirms whether the parts and materials used in our products are not a source of funds for armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and adjoining countries in accordance with the Section 1502 of the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act. Starting from 2020, Canon expands the scope of the surveys to the "conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRAs)" over the world in consideration of the impact of EU’s new conflict minerals regulations and take actions in accordance with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance.
Seeking to ensure that customers can use Canon products with peace of mind, Canon is working together with business partners and industry entities to promote responsible minerals sourcing.
