TOKYO, June 15, 2017 – Canon today announced that it obtained a preliminary injunction, which inter alia contains injunctive relief, granted by the District Court Düsseldorf against M & S Vertrieb Service OHG. The preliminary injunction is based on the infringement of the German portion of Canon's European patent 2 087 407 relating to a drum unit and a process cartridge. The accused act consists of the offer and distribution of laser toner cartridges comprising a drum unit via Amazon.de under the ASIN (=Amazon Standard Identification Number) B00I9BN11C, B00HFN56UE, B00IHWSUCS, B06WVB3JRW, B00IHXOQFW and B01BGQLB0O. Those cartridges replace the cartridge models HP CF226A, HP CE255X, HP CF280A, HP CF280X, HP CF287A, HP CE505A and HP CE505X compatible with HP laser beam printers.
TOKYO, June 1, 2017—Canon and J&H Greentech and Trading Limited, dealing under “Prestige Cartridge,” have agreed to resolve their pending multi-jurisdictional dispute regarding J&H's alleged infringement of Canon's European patents EP 2,087,407 B1, EP 2,137,577 B1, and the respective international counterpart patents thereof. To resolve these matters on a global basis and to conclude the patent infringement proceedings pending in Germany and Italy, J&H has agreed not to dispose of, offer to dispose of, use, keep, import or otherwise deal with certain laser toner cartridges for use in various models of Canon and HP laser beam printers worldwide.
