The EF-M18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM is the first high-power zoom lens in the EF-M series of lenses for EOS M-series compact-system cameras. With focal lengths ranging from wide angle to telephoto, capturing a wide variety of scenes is made possible with a single lens.
The EF-M18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM features a compact, lightweight design measuring 86.5 mm in length and weighing approximately 300 g. It features the same compact 60.9 mm diameter as other EF-M-series lenses to retain the same hold sensation when changing lens. The lens features finely knurled focus and zoom rings and a metallic finish to realize a high-grade exterior design and excellent handling. What’s more, the lens comes in two color variations to match different camera bodies.
Thanks to its two aspherical lenses, the EF-M18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM achieves high image quality across the entire zoom range from the center to the periphery. The lens achieves a minimum shooting distance1 of 0.25 m—delivering a maximum magnification of 0.31x2—making it ideal indoors for capturing subjects up close such as food or small objects.
Equipped with a new IS unit, the EF-M18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM delivers image stabilization equivalent to 4 shutter-speed stops.3 Additionally, when paired with the EOS M5, the lens’s optical image stabilizer works together with the camera to enable “Combination IS,” which realizes superior image stabilization. This image stabilization performance makes possible video capture with minimal shake when shooting video from an unstable position or while walking.
1 When shooting at focal lengths of 18-50 mm
2 When shooting at a focal length of 150 mm
3 At a focal length of 150 mm (35 mm film equivalent of 240 mm) when using the EOS M3. Based on CIPA standards.
