This compact, lightweight standard zoom lens replaces the EF28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 III USM released in 1995. Offering such features as micro USM (ultrasonic motor)-driven autofocus, the model retains essentially the same mechanical structure as its predecessor, but incorporates a new optical system design that employs only lead-free glass.
