This lens that make up the Sumire Prime series employs such optical technologies as large-diameter aspherical lens elements and low-dispersion glass placed in a proprietary optical arrangement that realizes artistically pleasing image rendering while subjects maintain a sense of solidity. In contrast to Canon’s series of fixed-focal-length lenses for the EF mount, which are characterized by their high levels of sharpness, the PL-mount Sumire Prime series is characterized by beautiful, impressive image rendering that realizes a blurring of the out-of-focus areas that spreads softly into the background to achieve a delicate separation of the subject.
