A lightweight, compact telephoto zoom lens designed to fit on IX 240 SLR cameras, EOS IX series. However, this lens is fully compatible with 35mm EOS series SLR cameras as well. Its newly designed five lens group construction with three movable lens groups improves telephoto picture quality and results in a high-magnification zoom ratio that includes the standard range. The micro USM (Ultrasonic Motor) drive AF is fast and silent. A wide zoom ring ensures smooth zoom operation for excellent operability. When attached to an IX 240 SLR camera, the zoom range is equivalent to a 35mm camera focal length of 69-250mm. The optical system of this lens consists of only environment-friendly lead-free glass lenses.
