The Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens is the fourth EF lens, and first L-type zoom lens, to incorporate an Image Stabilizer. The inclusion of the Image Stabilizer counteracts the effect of camera shake, providing the equivalent of a shutter speed that is two stops faster.
