The high-performance Canon EF14mm f/2.8L II USM ultra-wide-angle L (Luxury)-series lens builds and improves on the success of the EF14mm f/2.8L USM released in December 1991, a longtime favorite of professionals and advanced amateurs alike. Featuring a redesigned optical system, the model’s two large-diameter high-precision glass-mold aspherical lens elements work to suppress distortion and other aberrations, providing superb image quality even in peripheral areas. In addition, two UD lens elements minimize the common problem of lateral chromatic aberration, allowing photographers to achieve high resolution and high contrast representation throughout the entire image. The circular aperture offers creative possibilities by realizing beautiful blurring effects. The lens also achieves functional advancements in resilient dust- and water-proofing construction and enhanced AF (autofocus) speed.
