The Canon EF200mm f/2L IS USM, a bright, large-aperture f/2 telephoto lens, is ideal for portraiture and indoor sports photography. The new L-series lenses minimize the flare and ghosting commonly associated with digital camera photography while also realizing excellent color balance.
The main parts of the EF200mm f/2L IS USM employ magnesium alloy to ensure sturdy, durable performance while also contributing to smaller and lighter lens bodies. Furthermore, rubber dust and moisture protection on mounting parts, switch panels and elsewhere provides added peace of mind when shooting in inclement shooting conditions.
Canon L-series lenses are equipped with four AF stop buttons positioned around the front of the lens, enabling photographers to temporarily turn off autofocus to prevent other elements from interfering with focusing, and a circular aperture diaphragm that achieves natural background-blur performance.
