By switching to macro at the telephoto end, the lens supports macro photography, allowing close-up shots of small subjects such as flowers and insects. In addition to offering a minimum focusing distance of 0.2 m and maximum image magnification of 0.7x, the EF24-70mm f/4L IS USM incorporates hybrid IS, which effectively corrects for hand shake, making possible high-quality results with minimal blur even when shooting subjects up close. Capable of supporting wide-angle, standard and mid-range zoom as well as macro photography, the lens enables users to capture various subjects across a wide range of settings.
The new Canon EF24-70mm f/4L IS USM employs two aspherical lenses, which correct for various aberrations that often occur while zooming. Furthermore, two UD (ultra-low dispersion) lenses effectively minimize magnification chromatic aberrations and reduce color blurring that tends to occur at the periphery of a subject, delivering high-resolution, high-contrast imaging performance throughout the entire zoom range.
Featuring a compact, lightweight body delivering exceptional mobility, the EF24-70mm f/4L IS USM measures 93 mm in length and weighs approximately 600 g, making it ideal for hand-held photography.
