The EF-M11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM is a compact EF-M lens with a stylish body design that achieves exceptionally high image quality. Offering users a wide angle of view, the new lens is ideal for a diverse range of shooting situations, from panoramic landscape photography to expansive indoor shots, even in narrow interior settings. Joining the EF-M18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM and EF-M22mm f/2 STM lenses, which have been well received since their launch in September 2012, the new wide-angle zoom lens further enhances the appeal of Canon’s EOS M compact-system camera.

The EF-M-series lens’s short back focus, combined with the effective placement of two glass-molded aspherical lens elements and one UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) lens element, makes possible high-resolution, high-contrast imaging performance from the center to the peripheral areas of the image field in a compact lens design befitting a compact-system camera. The EF-M11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM is also the first EF-series lens to incorporate a lens-retraction mechanism to ensure that the lens stays at its most compact when not in use.

Employing a rear-focus system with a lightweight focusing lens and lead-screw-type stepping motor, the new EF-M lens delivers exceptionally quiet and smooth autofocus performance, not only when capturing still images but also when shooting movies.
