The EF-M32mm f/1.4L STM features an optical design that incorporates 14 elements in 8 groups, including a high-precision glass molded aspherical lens, realizing high resolution1 and high contrast approaching those of an L lens from the center of the image to the periphery. Featuring excellent descriptive performance and a 35 mm film equivalent focal length of approximately 50mm—close to human field of vision—the lens achieves a natural angle of view and perspective, making it ideal for a wide range of shooting scenarios, including portraits utilizing bokeh and snapshots.
The new lens features a wide f/1.4 aperture, the widest of any EF-M lens, allowing for fast shutter speeds even when shooting in such low-light scenarios as indoors or nighttime making possible high-image quality shooting with reduced hand shake and of course great bokeh. What’s more, taking advantage of the short back flange focal distance2 of the EOS M series, this lens achieves a compact, lightweight design with a total length of 56.5 mm and weight of approximately 235 g, enabling enjoyable grab-and-go shooting.
The EF-M32mm f/1.4 STM realizes a maximum shooting magnification of 0.25x and a minimum focus distance of 0.23 m making possible close-up shooting of subjects. What’s more, employing a metal mount, the lens achieves a stylish, high-quality design.
