A super wide angle lens with a large aperture of f/2.8. This lens has 114° diagonal angle of view, which is the widest in the world at the time, except fisheye lenses. The ground and polished aspherical glass lens surface with the highest aspheric degree, which is famous in the optics history, is used on the front side of the second lens element to achieve super high image quality. The compact optical system including an aspherical lens element thoroughly corrects aberrations. The floating mechanism achieves sharp definition even at close focusing distance.
