A high performance L series wide angle zoom lens, the lens mount of FD24-35mm f/3.5 S.S.C. Aspherical is changed to the New FD mount. A ground and polished glass aspherical lens element is used for the front lens to correct various aberrations caused by zooming. The floating mechanism achieves high definition at short focusing distance. Based on this lens, New FD20-35mm f/3.5L was developed later.
