A Gauss type large aperture middle telephoto lens with 7 lens elements in 4 groups. It is developed based on Serenar 85mm f/1.9 I, marketed in 1951. This lens was improved to Serenar 85mm f/1.5 II using lightweight aluminum alloy lens barrel.
This lens is also available under the Canon brand name.
