With the rapid explosion in the super-compact camcorder market, Canon introduced the UC10 to fully counter the competitors. It was developed in the pursuit of not only light weight, but also exceptionally attractive and unique specifications, performance, and design. Its compact body weighed about 580g. The UC10 employed a high-performance 8x zoom lens equipped with two aspherical elements, compact inner focusing system and new features such as a detachable wireless remote controller.
