This affordably priced model had a newly designed 3x zoom lens and a macro shooting mechanism. A compact total reflection mirror was applied to realize a bright single-lens-reflex viewfinder. Very accurate exposure was assured with a voltage stabilized exposure measuring circuit using a monolithic IC, the world’s first.
It was lightweight (only 470 grams) and easy to handle, with a plastic exterior, drop-in cartridge loading and a folding grip, which folded forward under the lens.
A black model was also marketed outside Japan.
