The EOS R50 V offers users comfortable video shooting through diverse video-focused functions and specifications. It boasts outstanding operability through such features as a video-oriented mode dial, an additional tripod screw hole for vertical shooting, two large video shooting buttons placed on the front and top of the camera, and a tally lamp which flashes red during video recording. The viewfinder has been eliminated to achieve a flat and linear design that fits well with video accessories, while the camera body is compact and lightweight so that users can hold it for long periods of time with less fatigue. The body structure, which boasts excellent heat dissipation, reduces the risk of interruption due to overheating, making the product suitable for long-term shooting or live streaming.
In addition to excellent operability, its outstanding video capturing capabilities fully address the needs of full-fledged video creators who pay fine attention to detail. Through the combination of an APS-C CMOS sensor*1 and a DIGIC X image processing engine, it generates rich bokeh that beautifully highlights subjects. It can also record 4K 60P crop video, in addition to premium quality 4K 30P video without cropping through 6K oversampling. Additionally, for the first time in the EOS R System, the camera includes a color filter that allows users to casually enjoy cinematic visual expressions. Furthermore, the R50 V inherits the “Custom Picture” function from professional Cinema EOS System cameras, which enables specific image quality adjustments according to the user’s needs.
*1 Approximately 24.2 megapixels when capturing still images. The number of effective megapixels decreases when shooting video.
