Since this camera has a large viewfinder, it was named “BF” for “Big Finder.” It succeeded the BF35.

The exterior design of the viewfinder and lens was revamped and the Canon logo was imprinted in silver. Film loading is fully automatic. The built-in flash has been improved as well. The camera comes with an auto date feature. The camera price was open, set according to the retailer’s discretion.
