The new RF-S series of lenses is designed for use with RF mount cameras with APS-C size CMOS sensors. This lens realizes compact and lightweight designs and provide the same high image quality and high performance of the EOS R system. RF-S lenses can even be used on full-frame EOS R cameras1, thus expanding the range of lenses for users to choose from.
The RF-S18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM features a 35 mm film equivalent focal length of approximately 29-240 mm in a compact and lightweight design that measures approximately 84.5 mm and weights approximately 310 g. In addition, the lens' built-in IS provides 4.5 stops2 of stabilization, and when paired with the EOS R7 camera, the lens IS and camera in-body image stabilization (IBIS) work in conjunction to provide up to 7.0 stops of IS2. What's more, the lens is equipped with “Dynamic IS” that provides additional stabilization when recording video, and has a minimum autofocus distance of 0.17 m and close-up shooting with a maximum magnification of 0.44 x3, thereby expanding the range of users’ visual expression.
1 When used with a full-frame camera, the center portion of the imaging area will be cropped to an APS-C equivalent size.
2 When used with the EOS R10 at a focal length of 150 mm (35 mm film equivalent of 240 mm). Based on CIPA standards. Yaw/pitch directions. When used with the EOS R7 at a focal length of 150 mm (35 mm film equivalent of 240 mm). Based on CIPA standards. Yaw/pitch directions.
3 Minimum shooting distance of 0.17 m with focal length of 18-35 mm. Maximum magnification of 0.44x with focal length of 50 mm.
