Canon Inc. requests removal of toner cartridges offered by URZAIZ BASSO SA DE CV from Amazon.mx

TOKYO, September 23, 2020—Canon Inc. today announced the filing of an infringement report with Amazon.mx seeking the removal of Amazon.mx listings for certain toner cartridges sold by URZAIZ BASSO SA DE CV for use in HP laser beam printers.

Canon's infringement report alleged that claim 160 of Mexican Patent Number 308881 was infringed by certain models CE255A and CF226A toner cartridges offered by URZAIZ BASSO SA DE CV under the Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs) B07BR6S6GR, B07WD5R38X, B07JMR42RL.

After receiving Canon's Report Infringement Form, Amazon removed the respective products, and at the time of this announcement, the above-identified listings of URZAIZ BASSO SA DE CV were no longer available on Amazon.mx.

The decision to take down a product is in the discretion of Amazon and is based on information provided by Canon. Amazon informed the vendor about the takedown and the vendor may object to it.
