Our extensive range of lenses provides unlimited possibilities for capturing different scenes and subjects, while providing ease of use that allows beginners to enjoy photography like professionals. With our latest lineup of mirrorless cameras, Canon is bringing advanced photographic experiences to photo lovers everywhere.
To answer the call for cameras that are ideal for grab-and-go shooting, yet still provide the power to capture beautiful photos, Canon continues to develop digital compact cameras with high image quality and a wealth of features. With high-sensitivity large-size sensors, our cameras can produce beautiful blurs, delicate gradations and other expressive tones. And we continue to introduce touch panel improvements that enhance intuitive operation. Compact and lightweight, our cameras are loaded with such features as powerful zoom capabilities and high-precision image stabilization. Our latest connectivity functions allow users to easily upload photos to social media.
Canon’s inkjet technology is constantly evolving. Our pursuit of ever more stunning and vivid photos and sharper text never ends, and we will not compromise in our commitment to make printing easier. Users can easily connect their smartphones and tablets to wirelessly print directly from their device without the use of a computer, even from a distance, for more convenient printing. The space-saving designs of our printers are stylish and blend beautifully with contemporary décor.
Large touch screens enhance ease of use and large-capacity ink tanks contribute to low running costs.
Amid the increasing demand for medical care in a wide range of healthcare fields from health promotion and disease prevention to advanced examination, diagnosis, and treatment, Canon will contribute to the progress of medical care by developing technologies and products that support doctors and patients. We offer a broad range of diagnostic imaging equipment, from CT and MRI systems to ophthalmic and digital radiography equipment. Furthermore, we aim to achieve significant growth in the future by focusing on medical imaging, healthcare IT and in-vitro diagnostics.
X-ray Computer Tomography (CT) is an imaging technique in which an X-ray beam rotates around to take cross-sectional images of a patient’s body (Tomographic image). In order to respond to the needs of clinics that desire quicker, broader, and even more detailed images of internal body structures, we have been developing area detector CT scanners, high-definition CT scanners that offer double the resolution of current models as well as other modalities that are the first in the world to be incorporated with the latest technology. Furthermore, given our aim to effect a reduction in medical related radiation exposure, radiation exposure reduce technology has become a standard feature in all of our CT systems.
For over half a century, since launching our first diagnostic ultrasound system in 1966, we have been advancing the technology and working with health care providers to broaden their use around the world. Diagnostic ultrasound is a radiation-free imaging technique that is used in many stages of medical care from initial diagnosis to follow-up. In recent years, ultrasound has become increasingly more useful as an effective diagnostic method for definitive diagnosis, treatment planning and therapy evaluation of patients with cancer and tumors. We developed Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging (SMI), a propriety imaging technology that can visualize blood flows and pathological tissues that were not possible before. SMI has received attention as a technology that can create exciting new possibilities for ultrasound diagnosis.
MRI is a non-X-ray diagnostic imaging technique in which a strong magnetic field and radio frequency are used to take cross-sectional images of internal body structures. Compare to CT, there is no exposure to radiation in a MRI scan. Our MRI systems feature proprietary PianissimoTM noise-reduction technology, providing quiet examinations throughout the entire investigative process. Furthermore, to reduce oppressive feeling, we work to widen the bore for patients. Moreover, we developed the world’s first non-contrast MR imaging method, broadening the applicability of non-invasive MRI diagnostic imaging. In addition to offering a high level of diagnostic capability, we are working to reduce the burden on patients.
Canon applies the proprietary optical and image processing technologies it has developed over many years to industrial equipment, developing products that meet the needs of a wide range of production fields. Examples include semiconductor lithography equipment that plays a role in the especially important production process of semiconductor chips and FPD lithography equipment, which is essential for the production of smartphones, TVs, and OLED displays. Additionally, with the network camera market expanding amid growing global security concerns, Canon is developing innovative image analysis solutions that go beyond crime prevention and monitoring applications.
Semiconductor chips are now used in everything from computers and smartphones to televisions, household appliances, automobiles and even railroad systems. Chip performance has been dramatically improved by technology that enables the miniaturization of semiconductor circuit patterns. Canon develops and manufactures state-of-the-art semiconductor lithography equipment for imprinting circuit patterns, achieving gains in miniaturization and raising productivity. Currently we are undertaking R&D on next-generation semiconductor manufacturing equipment for nanoimprint lithography technology, which will enable further miniaturization and cost reductions.
With advantages such as thinness, light weight and low power consumption, Organic LED (OLED) is fast becoming the next-generation choice for smartphones, televisions and other digital devices. OLED panel production requires advanced manufacturing equipment, including vacuum evaporation equipment for depositing organic material onto panel substrates and automated supply lines for glass substrates. Canon Tokki has unrivaled technology for both. In addition to boosting production capacity to match growth in the global market, Canon Tokki is strengthening its product capabilities for manufacturing larger and higher-resolution panels.
The network camera industry has grown rapidly as a result of rising security concerns worldwide. Network cameras are also being used for the monitoring of sports and other events, at manufacturing sites, and by marketing companies that accumulate information for innovative solutions based on big data analysis. Canon’s leading-edge network cameras combine advanced imaging technologies cultivated through our renowned optical equipment with the network video processing technologies of Axis and the video management software of Milestone Systems. This enables us to provide just the right solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
