Four Canon MAXIFY inkjet business printers recognized with prestigious Universal Design honors

TOKYO, March 3, 2016—Canon Inc. announced today that four Canon MAXIFY inkjet business printers were awarded the universal design expert favorite 2016 prize by iF UNIVERSAL DESIGN of Germany. The prestigious international accolade, bestowed by a jury of experts as part of the recommended: UNIVERSAL DESIGN program,¹ marked Canon's first UNIVERSAL DESIGN favorite prize.

Launched in the second half of 2014, Canon's MAXIFY brand of inkjet business all-in-ones and printers for small-office/home-office users support improved business productivity through high-speed, high-capacity print performance.

The recommended: UNIVERSAL DESIGN competition, organized by iF UNIVERSAL DESIGN & SERVICE, was established with the aim of recognizing and encouraging outstanding universal design products, services and architecture that boast broad, simple and intuitive use and speak to people across all generations. Award-winning entries selected by a jury of experts are bestowed UNIVERSAL DESIGN expert favorite honors, while those chosen by a 100-person consumer jury of various ages are awarded the honor of UNIVERSAL DESIGN consumer favorite.
2. The MAXIFY MB5350, MB5050, MB2350 and MB2050 were launched in the Americas as the MAXIFY MB5320, MB5020, MB2320 and MB2020, and in Japan as the MAXIFY MB5330, MB5030, MB2330 and MB2030, respectively.
