Canon's activities lead to the removal of 872 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Belgium

TOKYO, January 25, 2024—Canon Inc. today announced that in the fourth quarter of 2023, it has used the Amazon reporting tool^*, letters of inquiry and/or information letters to successfully remove 872 listings^** from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Belgium^***. Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Belgium is 33,374^**. The listings offered third-party laser printer toner cartridges from vendors that Canon believes infringed one or more of European Patent No. 2 087 407, European Patent No. 2 137 577, European Patent No. 1 977 289, European Patent No. 3 470 931 and European Patent No. 3 270 230.

Canon respects the intellectual property rights of others and will continue to enforce its own intellectual property rights.
