Environmental Technology Base
Since its establishment, Canon has been expanding our business domains into the Printing business, the Medical business, the Imaging business, and the Industrial business and providing services that benefit our customers, in order to solve diverse societal issues and enrich human lifestyles.
In 1993, we positioned Environment (E) priority over Quality (Q), Cost (C), and Delivery (D), and declared the EQCD concept: “Companies are not qualified to manufacture goods if they are incapable of ensuring environmental assurance” (Canon Group Environmental Charter). Ahead of its time, Canon has been creating environmentally conscious products and making efforts encompass the entire product lifecycle, focusing not only on resource and energy conservation but also on the reuse and recycling of products.
We organize these technologies and insights into a comprehensive technological base called the 'Green Platform,' which supports its business activities. Based on the platform, each of our business groups independently implements distinctive activities aimed at minimizing environmental burden, such as decarbonization and resource efficiency.
