Participated in the NTT EAST Group Regional Mirai Co-Creation Forum 2026
January 28, 2026
We have launched into a collaboration with NTT East Japan Corporation to create new use cases for a volumetric video system leveraging “All-Photonics Connect powered by IOWN.” Through this collaboration, volumetric video can be generated, viewed, and interactively controlled from remote locations without being constrained by the filming location. This eliminates the need to bring video generation servers to on-site locations such as stadiums, allowing for more efficient equipment deployment and potential cost reductions. In addition, audiences can access and interact with volumetric video from remote locations, enjoying a new entertainment experience that allows them to explore content freely from their preferred angles and viewpoints.
At the “NTT East Japan Group Regional Future Co-Creation Forum 2026”, held on January 28, we conducted a live demonstration by connecting the Volumetric Video Studio – Kawasaki to the event venue, NTTe-City Labo (NTT Central Training Center, Chofu City), via All-Photonics Connect. The demonstration showcased remote free-viewpoint control and real-time viewing.
Exhibition Content
- Real-Time Transmission of a Dance Performance
A dance performance captured live at the Volumetric Video Studio – Kawasaki was transmitted in real time to NTTe-City Labo. At the venue, the footage was presented as a showcase segment, featuring dynamic camera work designed to highlight the dancers’ performance. - Free-Viewpoint Control Demonstration Using Boxing Content
Using pre-recorded boxing content expected to be applied in future use cases, visitors experienced a free-viewpoint replay demonstration in which they could freely control camera angles and watch the footage from their preferred perspectives. - Boxing VR Experience
An immersive VR experience was provided using volumetric video footage, allowing visitors to feel as if they were inside the boxing ring and observe the boxers’ movements up close with a strong sense of presence.
We will continue to advance technical verification to enable location-independent creation, viewing, and interactive control of video content, with the aim of delivering new and innovative entertainment experiences.
