Canon Inc. announces Audit & Supervisory Board Member changes

TOKYO, September 26, 2024—Canon Inc. (the company) announced today that the company's Board of Directors approved the following appointment and retirement of an Audit & Supervisory Board Member at the Board Meeting held today. This change is to be formally approved at the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders in March 2025.

This change is due to the term expiration of an Audit & Supervisory Board Member.

Ms. Shigetomi has obtained practical experience in corporate accounting over many years as a certified public accountant in Japan, the U.S., and Hong Kong, as well as an abundance of international experience through her service at the overseas office of one of the world’s largest audit firms. Canon Inc. has selected Ms. Shigetomi as a candidate for Outside Audit & Supervisory Board Member because it expects that, in addition to her qualifications as an expert in corporate accounting, her wealth of knowledge on topics such as risk management and ESG from a global perspective will help the company to conduct appropriate audits more effectively.
