The OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) recommends that companies establish a grievance mechanism as an early-warning risk-awareness system for responsible minerals sourcing in the "OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas."
Parties with specific concerns and information regarding circumstances of extraction, trade, handling and export of minerals in conflict/high-risk regions as they pertain to Canon product supply chains (such as facts indicating that those minerals are the source of funds for armed groups in conflict-affected areas or are related to human rights violations) may voice to Canon through this website.
Through its supply chain, Canon will investigate the information provided to it, and take corrective action based on the "Canon Group Basic Policy on Responsible Minerals Sourcing" in cases where such action is necessary.
Please read the following before contacting Canon:
- Please enter your contact information (e-mail address, etc.) to the extent possible in order to help Canon promptly verify the information provided to it and otherwise respond with quickness.
- Canon will not supply individual reports on investigation results and actions taken except in cases where it has deemed it necessary to do so.
- Canon will not treat parties from whom it received contact in a disadvantageous manner strictly based on the fact that they provided information. However, this may not apply in cases where the provision of that information was clearly for libelous, slanderous or other improper purposes.
- For surveys on responsible minerals sourcing that concern parts, units, etc. purchased from the Canon Group, please contact the member of sales responsible for you.
- * Canon will not accept proposals of technical ideas or such ideas as products and advertisements.
Disclaimer: we retain the right to use or dispose of any such proposals or ideas at our discretion without restriction.
