One characteristic that sets Canon apart is the active involvement of business and R&D departments in IP activities. In order to maintain and develop this culture, Canon provides a wide range of training to staff and managers in business and R&D departments depending on the person's role. In addition to mandatory training aimed at acquiring a common foundation of knowledge, we offer voluntary training that allows employees to learn according to their own work and personal motivation. In recent years, we have introduced video-based training and other initiatives to reduce time and workplace limitations on education.
