Collaborative Creation Partnership
Canon is committed to co-creation with external partners under the corporate philosophy of kyosei (harmoniously living and working together), and participates as a founding member in the AIST Innovation Ecosystem Program, an initiative jointly carried out by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and private companies.
The program promotes co-creation through intellectual property. Participants in the program transfer their patents to AIST, which then licenses these patents along with its own patents to technology recipients. AIST receives licensing revenue from these recipients and invests it in new research and development to create the next generation of groundbreaking technologies. Participants are granted free access to AIST’s research outcomes and can leverage the collaborative results in their own business operations.
As a program participant, Canon contributes to innovation through co-creation and aims for further advancement by utilizing the cutting-edge research outcomes generated through this collaborative ecosystem.
