On July 29, 2023, Canon provided technical cooperation for “Buzz Rhythm LIVE V 2023,” which is organized by Nippon Television Network Corporation and ClaN Entertainment inc.. It realized live broadcast performance where real and virtual artists collaborate in the same space.
Under the title "Real and Virtual Festival," Volumetric Video Studio Kawasaki delivered a live broadcast where real and virtual artists collaborate in the same space, providing an unprecedented visual experience.
We achieved gorgeous collaborations such as "Hoshimachi Suisei x FUJIFABRIC" and "Mori Calliope x Creepy Nuts" and received many responses.
This livestream was made possible in cooperation with Balus CO., LTD.. While Canon used a volumetric video system to capture real artists in real time and generate 3D data, Balus created a virtual artist called VTuber through motion capture. By instantly combining the 3D data generated by each of them, it is now possible to have real and virtual artists appear in the same space without time difference. This resulted in a highly immersive live music performance, with artists performing in harmony with each other across dimensions.
Going forward, we will continue to further advance our volumetric video technology and expand our field of use, while also pursuing improvements in the value of video experiences.
