Canon Participates in WCO's Program for Developing Country Customs Officials.

The World Customs Organization (WCO) annually accepts customs officials from developing countries (mainly from Africa, Asia and Latin America) to study at Aoyama Gakuin University Graduate School and National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) under a one year scholarship program. In the course "Border Control of Intellectual Property Infringing Products" held by IPR National Center in Japan Customs, Canon, from the perspective of right holders, gave a lecture to participants from various countries on the practices and issues of anti-counterfeit activities, especially on border enforcement measures. In addition to the lecture, participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding on ways to identify counterfeit products by actually seeing and verifying counterfeit and genuine Canon products.
