World Customs Organization (WCO) Students Visit Canon

The World Customs Organization (WCO) annually accepts customs officials from developing countries (mainly from Africa and Asia) at Aoyama Gakuin University Graduate School and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) under a study abroad program for human resource development. As part of a course on border enforcement of intellectual property infringing products, the customs officials from various countries visited Canon. Canon gave lectures on its business activities, basic policy on anti-counterfeiting and actual border enforcement actions, and exchanged opinions with customs officials. In addition to the lectures, Canon taught the participants how to tell the difference between genuine and counterfeit products by showing actual samples.
