Customs Training in China in Conjunction With World IP Day

To mark World Intellectual Property Day (April 26), a series of intensive training sessions on counterfeit identification for customs officers across mainland China were conducted from April 8 to 23. Canon participated as a lecturer in these programs. The training sessions were held at major customs offices such as Guangzhou, Ningbo, Huangpu, Gongbei, Dapeng, Shekou, Shenzhen Bay, and Youyiguan Customs, and were attended by over 500 customs officers including participants joining online.
During the training, Canon provided detailed explanations of key identification points for its products, using genuine and counterfeit samples, videos, printed materials, and also printer models. With a particular focus on printer consumables, where counterfeits are especially prevalent, the training was designed to contribute to the seizure of counterfeit Canon products by the Chinese Customs at the border.
Canon will continue to enhance cooperation with customs authorities worldwide and remain committed to the elimination of counterfeit products.
